In the National Numbering Plan, the 06-5 and 06-6 number ranges are reserved
for paging services. The KPN Telecom PSTN Paging Connect Service enables the paging numbers
of service providers to be dialled from fixed connections on the KPN Telecom network.
Retail service: Paging
With paging, the end user can receive sounds, digital messages or text messages, depending
on the subscription and type of pager.
The most important characteristics of paging are its excellent coverage - 99-100% - and
its ability to be used anywhere - the end-user equipment is radiation-free. The majority
of end users come from the emergency services and the public order/safety sectors.
Paging providers now also offer additional voicemail and e-mail services.
Wholesale service: Paging Connect
The KPN Telecom PSTN Paging Connect Service enables the numbers of a service provider
to be dialled by end users on KPN Telecom's fixed network. This means that the service
provider is able to offer its paging services to all of KPN Telecom's fixed subscribers.
Paging numbers are accessible from:
- KPN's fixed network (with Paging Connect)
- the networks of Dutch fixed and mobile operators (with the additional KPN Telecom PSTN
Premium Transit Connect Service)
- abroad (with the additional KPN Telecom PSTN Incoming International Telco Terminating
Connect Service)
Paging numbers:
- are not portable
- have 10 digits
- cannot be dialled with carrier (pre-)select
